my book list

I have a lot of books that I can't wait to get my hands on, once this semester is over. Here's my list, so far:

1. The Heartsong of Charging Elk by James Welch
2. Everything Is Illuminated: A Novel by Jonathan Safran Foer
3. Fools Crow by James Welch
4. In the Woods by Tana French
5. Peace Like a River by Leif Enger (*I've actually read this one and LOVED it)
6. Shadow of the Wind: A Novel by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
7. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
8. So Brave, Young and Handsome by Leif Enger
9. People of the Book: A Novel by Geraldine Brooks
10. The Story of Edgar Sawtelle: A Novel by David Wroblewski
11. The Likeness: A Novel by Tana French (book #2 in a series - follows "In The Woods")
12. Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...One School at a Time by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin

Of course, there are about a zillion other books that I would love to read as well, but I think this is a pretty good starter list for my May - September reading.

  1. Awesome list, thanks for all the options. I will try to narrow it down really soon, so we can start reading!

  2. Not exactly sure how I ended up here (there's no telling where clicking around the internet on a slow afternoon at work can get you...), but I had to comment on this most excellent book list, which is very similar to my own taste. I've read at least half of these in the last year would recommend them all - In the Woods and The Likeness are both VERY enjoyable to read, and I love Lief Enger. And Greg Mortenson. And Geraldine Brooks. And am now inspired to check out a couple of the others you listed....
